Who I am

An ex boss once said “Nigel your operation in the UK is the most professionally run part of the whole global business”.

An experienced business professional I started my career literally on the shop floor repairing punctures in a local garage. An enormous capacity for hard work, a determination to shake off poor school achievement and a focus on making a better life I rose steadily up the corporate ladder.

My entire career (so far) has been about building and improving businesses as an employee. But the time has come to change this and do it for myself: The best is still too come. I want to make money and have fun, and the best way for me to achieve this is to combine my business skills with my passion for sport. Just for the record that’s participating not spectating.

What am I good at?

·Unusually wide business knowledge

·Very strong relationship building skills

·So organised I’m only ever truly happy with a list

My business experience

·Started two new businesses from scratch

·Turned around two underperforming businesses

·Implemented UK wide business change programmes including IS/IT strategy

·Business relocation; under budget and on time and all the staff came along to

·Handled relationships with media, academia and city investors

·Member of a team that negotiated and won the largest order in company’s history

·Travelled extensively with significant exposure to international and multicultural environments: I lived in Bangladesh for 2 years and it doesn’t get much tougher

·Recent experience includes low carbon sector which is a real favourite of mine: we should all get on our bikes or let the train take the strain

Out of hours?

·Focused and competitive sportsman: mountain biking, fitness training, water and snow skiing.

·Follow current affairs via quality media.

·Reading political and scientific history.

·Member of local charity Executive Committee.
