About Dr Thomas Dalsgaard Nielsen

After graduating with distinction from the undergraduate and graduate electrical engineering programs at the Georgia Institute of Technology, Thomas Dalsgaard Nielsen joined Prucka Engineering as a lead software engineer. During his four-year tenure at Prucka, Mr. Nielsen accumulated extensive experience in designing cardiac and catheterization software and working directly with physicians to improve user interface.

Developing an interest in medicine, Dr. Nielsen went on to obtain his medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in 2001. He later completed his residency in internal medicine at Duke University, as well as a cardiology fellowship at the University of Alabama, developing a special interest in pacemaker and ICD implants.

Dr. Thomas Dalsgaard Nielsen now calls Fort Payne, Alabama, his home and has been with Dekalb Regional Medical Center as a board-certified cardiologist since 2017. In addition to his medical research activities, he lends his patronage to the American Heart Association and the Symphony Volunteer Council of the Alabama Symphonic Association.
