About Dr Susan Turner

After earning a bachelor of arts from Princeton University and a master of arts from Emory University, psychiatrist Dr. Susan Turner enrolled in the pre-medical program at Columbia University and ultimately graduated with her doctor of medicine from the Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons. She subsequently completed an internship and a residency in psychiatry through the New York State Psychiatric Institute and Columbia Presbyterian Hospital. Over the course of her career, Dr. Susan Turner has served as an assistant attending psychiatrist with New York Presbyterian Hospital and an associate medical director with Columbia Psychiatric Associates.

Dr. Turner’s current private practice emphasizes a holistic treatment approach that combines traditional therapies such as psychopharmacology with lifestyle management in the areas of diet, exercise, and sleep. Dr. Susan Turner recently integrated pet therapy into her practice, a technique that has proven particularly effective with clients who are dealing with psychological issues that stem from anxiety and/or trauma.
