An experienced Medical Director, Dr. Soon K. Kim currently serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of Aurora Behavioral Health Care. Focused on providing comprehensive treatments for chemical dependency and behavioral health issues, Aurora Behavioral Health Care owns and operates seven acute psychiatric hospitals located in California, Arizona, and Illinois. Kim and his associates have shown their commitment to maintaining high-quality care for each patient. Dr. Soon K. Kim began his medical career in 1971 in private practice in Michigan. Subsequent career development included positions as Medical Director at both Hegira Programs, Inc., and Associated Neuro Psychiatrists of Allen Park, MI. In 1989, Dr. Soon K. Kim joined Michigan Healthcare Corporation in Detroit as Medical Director. More recently, he joined the University of Southern California, Davis School of Gerontology, where he currently serves on the Board of Directors. Dr. Soon K. Kim obtained his M.D. from Seoul National University in South Korea. After serving a rotating internship at Niagara Falls Medical Center in Niagara Falls, New York, he went on to serve a three-year residency in general psychiatry and a one-year fellowship in community psychiatry at Wayne County General Hospital in Eloise, Michigan. Dr. Kim has earned licenses to practice medicine in both Michigan and Illinois. Over the course of his career, he has maintained active memberships with the American Psychiatric Association and the American Medical Association. His professional certifications include holding the status of Diplomate with the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
