About Dr Shawna Deeves

A graduate of the Medical School at the University of Texas Health Science Center, Dr. Shawna Deeves is a former diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. She completed her residency in adult psychiatry, followed by a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry, and has strived to provide the highest quality psychiatric care in a friendly and efficient manner. Dr. Shawna Deeves spent the majority of her career in psychiatry as a private practitioner who maintained a professional association/private practice clinic in Texas for seven years. She focused the practice largely on adult psychiatry, providing psychotherapy and medication management services to 300 clients.

In 2013, Dr. Shawna Deeves retired from private practice. She now serves as the chief medical officer of Dexteritas, Inc., a Texas-based company she cofounded that focuses on improving the compliance rates of continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) devices, used in the treatment of obstructive sleep apnea. In that position, she provides advice regarding the design and performance of new devices. Additionally, Dr. Deeves handles brand development and investor relations for the start-up company.
