Dr. Samuel Nisbett has more than three decades’ experience researching, teaching, and practicing ophthalmology across North America. Having earned his medical degree at the University of the West Indies, Dr. Nisbett continued his education at universities in Canada and the United States before opening his own practice, Saje Vision Services, in Abbotsford, Canada.Concurrent to his work in private practice, Dr. Samuel Nisbett has taken on a number of professional appointments with the Manitoba Medical Association, the University of Manitoba, and Misericordia General Hospital. In 1998 and 1999, he served as a federal and provincial representative in Cuba, exploring therapy for retinitis pigmentosa.An active member of his community, Dr. Nisbett served as a mentor for Salisbury High School and Mouat High School for a number of years. Additionally, he judged the Cargill Games and the Boeing Games while volunteering his expertise on the medical staff for the British Columbia Summer Games in Abbotsford. Dr. Nisbett has given lectures to staff and clients of the Canadian National Institute for the Blind, and in 1999, he took part in an international medical mission to Africa’s Ivory Coast, where he participated in an eye surgery camp.Dr. Samuel Nisbett is a certified medical practitioner in British Columbia, where he holds licenses in general practice and ophthalmology. Additionally, Dr. Nisbett retains professional memberships in organizations including the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Canadian Medical Association, the Canadian Ophthalmological Society, the Canadian Implant Society, and the British Columbia Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons.
