Dr. Sammie I Long

A board-certified radiologist, Dr. Sammie I. Long possesses extensive experience both in a clinical setting and in academia. In addition to having recently served as a clinical assistant professor of radiology and special fellow at the University of South Alabama Medical Center, Dr. Sammie I. Long has also held positions at the VA Medical Center in Murfreesboro, Tennessee; Howard University Hospital in Washington, DC; and the George W. Hubbard Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee. Beyond her professional accomplishments, Dr. Long maintains membership in a number of industry organizations such as the American College of Radiology, American Medical Association, and Alpha Omega Alpha. Established in 1902,Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) is a medical honor society dedicated to recognizing those who have achieved excellence in the field of medicine. The AOA comprises more than 150,000 members, and is committed to honoring educational and professional development, teaching, and service to those in the community. Following the organization’s motto of “be worthy of serving the suffering,” the founders of AOA believe in looking beyond one’s self and utilizing the medical profession to serve those in need in the local community. The organization also emphasizes scholarly and scientific advancement, and the avoidance of any and all practices that are deemed to be commercial in nature.
