Born in Italy, Dr. Renato Calabria was educated at the prestigious University of Padua medical school. Dr. Calabria then moved to the United States to perform his postdoctoral training. He completed research fellowships at Los Angeles County Harbor-University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) Medical Center and Wadsworth-VA Medical Center before conducting his residency in pathology at Wadsworth-UCLA Medical Center. He then spent five years training in General Surgery at Kerns County-University of California, San Diego Medical Center before moving to the San Francisco Bay area to be trained in plastic and reconstructive surgery at Saint Francis Memorial Hospital.Dr. Renato Calabria has enjoyed much media attention due to his expertise and the popularity of his work.
