A graduate of the University of Manitoba’s Faculty of Medicine, Dr. Randy Allan offers house call services in addition to treating patients at his Main Street Medical facility in Winnipeg, Canada. Trained as both a primary care physician and as a pathologist, Dr. Randy Allan serves as one of the few area physicians able to conduct multiple lab tests while visiting patients’ homes. A driving force behind the successful house call initiative, Dr. Randy Allan has served patients in their homes since his previous position with Envoy Medical Dispatch, which he began nearly 15 years ago. He maintains membership with the Canadian Academy of Senior Advisors. Building his medical practice on his background as a Pathologist, Dr. Allan performed diagnostic procedures for Trainor Laboratory, Richmond General Hospital (now Richmond Hospital), Lake of the Woods District Hospital, and Burnaby Hospital. Responsible for the testing of surgical specimens from Northwest Ontario, Dr. Randy Allan performed autopsies, served as Chair to the Laboratory Results Reporting Committee, and supervised and ensured quality care systems, as well as spearheaded the incorporation of a regional electronic health record system.
The former Acting Director of Cytopathology at the Hamad General Hospital in Qatar, Dr. Allan has traveled extensively for his medical career and studies. Attending New York University to complete a fellowship certification in dermatopathology, he attended to patients at the Ronald O. Perelman Department of Dermatology at New York University’s Langone Medical Center. He completed his residency in general and anatomical pathology at The University of British Columbia in Vancouver. An avid traveler for and outside of his professional endeavors, Dr. Randy Allan has visited Australia, Thailand, Belize, and Mexico. To ensure his continued success as a primary care physician responsible for the health and well-being of his patients, Dr. Randy Allan stays in top shape by cycling, lifting weights, and skiing. He resides with his family in Winnipeg.
