About Dr. Ralph Soney

Dr. Ralph Soney is a respected academic leader who has served as vice president for corporate and continuing education with Guilford Technical Community College in Greensboro, North Carolina, since 2013. Responsible for guiding business and industry training services, Dr. Ralph Soney has spearheaded creation of half a dozen new short-term training programs at the request of partners in industry. These efforts have been successful in filling gaps in skilled employees in areas such as advanced manufacturing and aviation.

Dr. Soney also holds responsibilities at Guilford as division director for aviation programs and guides five distinct degree programs. One of his key accomplishments has been setting in place training for more than 300 students that enabled them to qualify for positions helping Honda Jet produce its innovative new $4.5 million luxury jet.

Dr. Soney previously spent seven years with Roanoke-Chowan Community College in Ahoskie, North Carolina, as president. He oversaw a full range of functions, from hiring and faculty evaluations to managing the operating budget. Dr. Ralph Soney significantly increased enrollment and established an Early College High School that provided high school students with the opportunity of earning dual enrollment credits.
