Dr. Peter Newsom’s career in medicine spans more than 30 years. In that time, he has established a successful practice in psychiatry, founded a nonprofit dedicated to the psychological health of children, served as an emergency room physician, and distinguished himself as a published author, speaker, and expert in mindfulness. Today, Dr. Peter Newsom balances his private psychiatry practice at Mindfulness Centered Healing, which he owns, with his duties as the founding President of NeuroTrack Health Institute. Both are based in Menlo Park, California. Additionally, Dr. Newsom provides crisis care to adolescent and adult patients as an Attending Physician in Psychiatry at Mills-Peninsula Hospital in Burlingame.A respected authority in his fields of expertise and a longtime practitioner of mindfulness, Peter Newsom, M.D., has frequently shared his knowledge through lectures before such organizations as the Mid-Peninsula Psychiatric Society, as well as speaking engagements at local high schools and mindfulness meditation classes at area hospitals and Northwestern University.
