About Dr Monya De

Dr. Monya De is an internal medicine physician with experience spanning nutrition and the evidence-based analysis of natural supplements. She is also a medicine and health insurance transparency advocate who has worked to improve the electronic health records system. In particular, Dr. Monya De has taken a stand against the barrage of unnecessary, painful lab tests patients must undergo each day for conditions such as anemia. She has developed and programmed an automated system that enables a hospital-based clinic to effectively track patients’ follow-up care records.

Dr. De has authored a number of feature articles on medicine for publications such as The East Bay Express and earned a New America Media award nomination in the journalism category. Active as a presenter in her field, she has spoken at the Solomon Scholars academic conference at the University of California, Los Angeles, and before the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology. Dr. Monya De also has consulted on scripts for major television programs, including “The Ghost Whisperer” and “House.”
