Over almost thirty years in the education sector, Dr. Keith Miller has held senior positions in a number of universities and colleges including Quinnipiac College, Niagara University, University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh, and Lock Haven University. He has a proven track record of modernizing institutions, integrating technology with education, and promoting the enrollment of people from marginalized communities. At Virginia State University Dr. Keith Miller implemented cloud technology in the university's academic program and oversaw the production and launch of apps through which students could download their schedules and the school calendar. During his time as provost and vice chancellor at the University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh, Dr. Keith Miller presided over a 30 percent increase in the enrollment of students of color. Furthermore, he oversaw efforts to increase access to education and enrollment through the development of the university's collaborative education and online education programs. Key to these strategies were public/private partnerships with local and national businesses such as M&T Bank, Occidental Chemical, and Key Bank.
