Dr. John Siebert is a renowned plastic surgeon who currently serves as Professor of Surgery for the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, located in Madison, Wisconsin. Dr. John Siebert has held this post since 2007, along with an Adjunct Professorship of Surgery at the New York University School of Medicine. Dr, Siebert has practiced medicine since his residency as a General Surgeon at Massachusetts General Hospital in 1981. Dr. John Siebert completed his General Surgery Residency at Massachusetts General Hospital in 1986 and moved to New York University Hospital the same year to fulfill his Residency in Plastic Surgery. In 1988, Dr. Siebert began his Fellowship in Microsurgery, which ended in 1989. From 1989 until 1992, Dr. Siebert held the position of Director of Microsurgery and Replantation Surgery Service at New York University Bellevue Hospitals. Beginning simultaneously in 1989, Dr. John Siebert was designated as an Attending Surgeon at three additional hospitals within New York City, the Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital: the New York Ear and Eye Infirmary: and at Manhattan Veterans Administration Hospital. Dr. Siebert remains in these posts to this day, serving the needs of his patients with his considerable wealth of experience and surgical talent. Adding to his long list of responsibilities, Dr. John Siebert was appointed an Associate Professor of Surgery at New York University School of Medicine and Chief of Plastic Surgery at Bellevue Hospital. Dr. Siebert was tenured in his professorship at New York University School of Medicine in 1995 and remained in this position until 2007, when he took his present position at the University of Wisconsin. Dr. John Siebert has been a prolific contributor to academic and professional research in the field of medicine, contributing to over 50 professional journal articles and more than 18 chapters in books on medicine and surgery. He has also given 120 major professional presentations before his peers. Additionally, Dr. John Siebert has engaged in medical research for topics ranging from the microsurgical correction of facial asymmetry and other contour deformities in children to TGF-B immunolocalization in flexor tendon healing. Dr. John Siebert has earned more than 25 awards and numerous grants for his exceptional scholarship and academic endeavors in medical research.
