Extensively educated and highly trained, Dr. Jaydutt Patel graduated from the PramukhSwami Medical College in Karamsad, India, with his Doctor of Medicine in 1999. After receiving his degree, he undertook several postgraduate residencies and fellowships at prestigious medical institutions in the United States. Dr. Patel completed his internal residency at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in Newark. In addition, he served as Chief Medical Resident at the University of Iowa in Des Moines. He completed fellowships in cardiovascular medicine at the Tufts University School of Medicine. In addition, Dr. Jaydutt Patel was a Cardiovascular Medicine Fellow at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center and a Cardiac Electrophysiology Fellow at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. While working at Tufts University School of Medicine, he earned recognition for his instruction, receiving the Teaching Excellence Award. At present, Jaydutt Patel, MD, holds two medical positions in Erie, Pennsylvania, at Saint Vincent Health Center and at Consultants in Cardiovascular Diseases, Inc. With Saint Vincent, Dr. Patel worked with a patient who was suffering from a severe case of ventricular tachycardia. The patient’s heart was beating more that twice the normal number of beats per minute. Initially, the patient had been treated with a pacemaker but found the side effects too invasive on his everyday life. Dr. Jaydutt Patel was able to recommend and perform a procedure called ventricular tachycardia (VT) ablation, which involved the use of a flexible tube, radio waves, and heat to destroy cardiovascular tissue causing an irregular heartbeat. The procedure, a complete success, serves as an example of Jaydutt Patel, MD’s professional accomplishments. In addition to his work as a physician and a cardiac electrophysiology specialist, Dr. Jaydutt Patel contributes to the Medical Reserve Corporation. He has donated more than two gallons of blood during his adult life and is an active member of the Massachusetts Medical Society, for which he serves on the Communication Committee. Dr. Jaydutt Patel lives in Pennsylvania and speaks fluent English, Gujarati, and Hindi.
