About Dr James Summa

A physician with many years of experience in radiology, Dr. James Summa served for 14 years as an interventional radiologist and group partner with White Rock Radiology in East Dallas, Texas. In this capacity, he delivered a full range of outpatient diagnostic services and created a safe, welcoming treatment environment for patients. Dr. James Summa frequently performed procedures such as X-rays, MRIs, CT scans, stereotactic breast biopsies, bone densitometries, and digital mammography.

Over the years, Dr. Summa has conducted organ biopsies for the detection of malignant cancers and completed several different kinds of angiograms for the treatment of aortic aneurysms and peripheral vascular disease. In addition to placing carotid stents for carotid stenosis, he placed dialysis catheters and performed declotting of dialysis shunts. 

Dr. James Summa received his MD at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland and completed his residency in radiology at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. He also completed a fellowship in angiography and interventional radiology at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas.
