Document Control Procedures
Experience applying standard document control procedures for part number creation and revision control to manage documentation changes. Detailed design documentation, including mechanical drawings, assemblys, parts lists, ECOs.
Knowledge of Design for Manufacturing (DFM), and Design for Assembly (DFA), design limits and tolerances. Played a key design role focusing on supplier selection, cost minimization. Experience working with a variety of materials: polymers, metal alloys and familiarity with various fabrication processes such as injection molding, casting and welding, sheet metal fabrication. Working with teams that quickly conceptualizes new mechanical designs, develops them, and brings them to market. I've worked in every process used to create and assemble a hard drive and strive to stay informed of changes in processes and designs.
Communication Skills
Excellent interpersonal, communication skills with experience working in multi-disciplinary teams in fast-paced, technically challenging environments. Interfacing with manufacturing to facilitate manufacturing process development.
3D Animation

"Drew is a gifted, inquisitive, and productive designer who understands multiple CAD systems. He was viewed as a "go to guy" in regards to CAD systems at Western Digital (aka WD). In addition to his professional skills, Drew was a pleasure to work with at WD."

Paul Henry

"I worked closely with Drew for more than 10 years here at WD on servo-writer tooling and product assembly tooling. Drew is fast, accurate, detailed, well organized, efficient, creative, productive, and simply the best mechanical design CAD support I could have ever wished for. He has experience with many different CAD programs. I considered him a significant asset to our company and feel he would be an asset for any mechanical design organization."

Mark Hathaway

Dan Golowka

Mukesh Patel

"Drew is a very hard worker and also an efficient designer. He comes up with a lot of design ideas quickly and can model it quickly to see if it will work. He is extremely efficient with the use of Solid Designer and Solid Works. I highly recommend him."

Rakesh Duggal

Drew is very imaginative, a hard worker and extremely helpful to his co-workers.

Randolph Vanderwerf

Drew shows strong determination to be a valuable resource to WD. He has taken assignments to support CAD, AS Lab and AME tooling support and has done a good job serving each area. This is a great example of Drew's ability to juggle several items at one time and support AME and AS lab needs.
