At present, Drew Anderson operates Outlier Strategies, a public relations and strategic communications consulting firm. His background includes a long stint with the New Democratic Party of Canada (NDP) beginning in 2005, when he served as the director of fundraising and membership. Over the next five years, Drew Anderson managed innovative changes in the party’s advertising, branding, and digital media campaigns, and in 2010 he stepped into the position of director of communications for the NDP. His sustained efforts helped the party to grow from 19 seats in 2005 to 103 seats in Parliament by 2011 and to achieve Official Opposition status. Mr. Anderson built on this experience in guiding the 2012 national advertising campaign for the new leader of the party.
From 2012 to 2014, Drew Anderson served as the University of Ottawa’s executive director of communications. During that time, he managed a major brand refresh campaign for the university, fostering a stronger emotional bond between key audiences and uOttawa. Mr. Anderson's team also spearheaded the launch of an innovative, mobile-friendly website for the university. Mr. Anderson enjoys outdoor activities in his free time, as well as running marathons and half marathons.
