OPEN-SOURCE INVOLVEMENT

CHEF BRIGADE

Chef Brigade is a new community organization that hopes to preserve the future of Chef (Software) cookbooks. As cookbook maintainers' interests and jobs change over time their ability to continue updating cookbooks may diminish. While Chef Brigade is still in the organizational phase, it is our hope that cookbook authors will build their cookbooks under the Chef Brigade Github and Supermarket organizations. If/when they need to move on, or if they need additional maintainer help, the brigade will help search for new maintainers to step in. This ensures end-users don't find themselves using an abandoned cookbook with too many open issues/pull requests.

GITLAB CORE TEAM

As an active member of the GitLab community, I was invited to be a part of the community core team. The core team consists of about a dozen members that serve as community leaders. We help triage issues and merge/pull requests in GitHub and GitLab and interact with the community via IRC, Gitter and GitLab forum. We are unpaid and participate in our free-time because we love GitLab and want to help the project and the community.
