Over the course of her career in general, family, and cosmetic dentistry, Dr. Elizabeth Bortfeld has upheld her commitment to the professional and ethical standards of her field, gaining accolades for her work. An honors graduate of the University of Michigan, Dr. Elizabeth Bortfeld completed her B.S. in Biology and enrolled at her alma mater’s School of Dentistry. From 1984 through 1988, Dr. Elizabeth Bortfeld continued to build upon her academic foundations at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry, ultimately earning her D.D.S. At the end of this period, Dr. Elizabeth Bortfeld embarked on a multifaceted dental career, launching a private practice in the greater Detroit metropolitan region in 1993. For the next seven years, Dr. Elizabeth Bortfeld split her efforts between managing a private general dental practice, treating patients in a retirement community, and directing the activities of a local dental society. A Staff Dentist at Presbyterian Village of Michigan between 1995 and 1998, Dr. Bortfeld performed extractions, crown and bridge work, and dental procedures for seniors. As a former member of the Board of Directors at the Oakland County Dental Society, Dr. Bortfeld participated in meetings of the Committee on Children’s Dental Health, served as a delegate to the annual meeting of the Michigan Dental Society, and edited the Oakland County Dental Review. Owing to her performance, Dr. Bortfeld earned a Journalism Award from the International Council of Dentists and won nomination as Michigan’s Young Dentist of the Year. In 2001, Dr. Elizabeth Bortfeld moved to New Jersey and chose to continue her career as a part-time associate dentist under Dr. Rudolph Leidl’s Long Valley Dental Group in Long Valley. Over the next eight years, Dr. Bortfeld balanced her responsibilities at Long Valley Dental Group with duties at the National Foundations of Dentistry for Persons with Disabilities, through which she delivered preventive and corrective dental treatments to children at schools. Dr. Bortfeld ran a mobile dental clinic, where she treated children and adolescents with autism, cerebral palsy, and other challenges. The principal dentist and proprietor of Long Valley Dental Group since 2010, Dr. Bortfeld now directs all aspects of her organization, including the supervision of a staff of fellow dentists, hygienists, and support professionals. Specializing in general, corrective, and cosmetic dentistry, Dr. Bortfeld and her colleagues at Long Valley Dental Group serve the needs of adults and children in a comfortable, family-oriented environment.
