Doctor

J. Douglas Cusick, M.D., F.A.C.S.

Objective

Understanding that the decision to undergo plastic surgery is often difficult for his patients, Dr. Doug Cusick takes the time to explain all of the available options and possible outcomes, and thoroughly addresses patient questions and concerns. Providing personal attention is the cornerstone of Dr. Doug Cusick’s practice. He maintains an office in Leawood, Kansas, just half an hour from Kansas City, and performs the majority of his surgical procedures at the Surgicenter of Johnson County.

With two decades of surgical experience, Dr. Doug Cusick provides both cosmetic and reconstructive procedures to his patients. Cosmetic techniques are designed to enhance or reshape normal parts of the body and include procedures such as facelifts, breast augmentation, and liposuction. The need for reconstructive surgery often arises from damage or trauma resulting from accidents or illnesses. Common reconstructive procedures include breast reconstruction following mastectomies, head-neck cancer reconstruction, and burn reconstruction.

A board-certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Doug Cusick received his Doctorate of Medicine from the Oral Roberts University School of Medicine in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and completed his plastic surgery residency at the University of Kansas Medical Center. He has served as Treasurer and President-Elect of the Kansas City Plastic Surgery Society.

In addition to his private practice, Dr. Doug Cusick donates his time and expertise to those in need. The doctor supports the Medical Missions Foundation, an organization committed to providing medical care to children in impoverished nations around the world. Dr. Cusick travels abroad several times each year to conduct reconstructive procedures at no charge.
