One of six physicians in the practice of Middle Georgia Orthopaedic Surgery & Sports Medicine in Warner Robins, Georgia, Dr. Daxes Banit is an Orthopaedic Surgeon, specializing in the spine. Dr. Banit has worked at Middle Georgia Orthopaedic Surgery & Sports Medicine since 2005. He holds expertise in six areas including, spinal deformity, degenerative spine issues, wounds, and injuries. He has board certification from both the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and the American College of Spine Surgery. Receiving his M.D. from Duke University School Of Medicine in North Carolina in 1994, Dr. Daxes Banit previously completed his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Emory University in 1990. After Duke, his first internship was in general surgery with the Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Dr. Banit then was an Orthopaedic Research Fellow at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center before completing another internship at the University of Kentucky Medical Center. Dr. Banit completed his residency in orthopaedics with University of Kentucky Medical Center in 2001. He then moved to Charlotte, North Carolina, accepting a spine fellowship with the Charlotte Orthopaedic Specialists. His next stop was with Orthopedic Specialties of Spartanburg, before moving to Anderson Orthopaedic Clinic PA.In addition to his professional career, Dr. Daxes Banit enjoys design and patent work. He is particularly interested in redesigning implants, instruments, and tools for greater efficiency. He currently holds patents for a carbon-fiber cervical plate and a medical screw system.
