An expert in Lasik surgery for vision correction, Dr. Dan Beers offers patients state-of-the-art IntraLase and VISX technologies. Dr. Dan Beers performs cataract surgery utilizing minimally invasive techniques, ensuring rapid recovery in patients. In addition to his work at Peninsula Laser Eye Medical Group, Dr. Dan Beers serves as El Camino Hospital's Chief of Ophthalmology and as an adjunct faculty member at Stanford University. Dr. Dan Beers has demonstrated a firm commitment to volunteerism throughout his career, traveling throughout Central and South American countries to administer eye care to residents in need. Dr. Dan Beers completed his undergraduate work at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD), receiving Bachelor of Arts degrees in Biochemistry and Philosophy. A member of the Phi Beta Kappa honor society, Dr. Dan Beers graduated cum laude. Dr. Dan Beers subsequently attended the University of California, San Francisco, earning a Doctor of Medicine. Dr. Dan Beers next undertook specialized ophthalmology training at Oregon Health Sciences. It was at this institution that Dr. Dan Beers participated in groundbreaking FDA research on the excimer laser and laser vision correction procedures. In recognition of his high-quality work, Dr. Dan Beers was recently named a top local ophthalmologist by San Jose Magazine. Dr. Dan Beers is also active with the San Francisco Giants baseball team, sponsoring the “Sharp Eye of the Game” feature during broadcasts. As a result of this affiliation, Dr. Dan Beers threw out the first pitch at a Giants game. Dr. Dan Beers is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. In his free time, Dr. Dan Beers enjoys cycling, as well as competitive sports such as golf and basketball.
