  • Reaserch on Monsoon,Rainfall, Kanikonna (Cassia fistula) Flowering &Weather Forecast from 1992- till date

A comprehensive and prolonged Research Study on the patterns of the 2 Monsoons of Kerala, South West (Edavapathi) & North East (Thulavarsham) occurring in Kerala and its relationship with the flowering patterns of Kanikonna (Cassia fistula) was personally pursued from the year 1991. An analytical study of these characteristics showed a pattern which could give a projection on the time, intensity and duration of the monsoon. On its basis, a scientific weather forecast on the ensuing Rain Fall can be made with 95 % accuracy. The presence and role of a Biosensor in Cassia tree is found to be a unique phenomenon which might be the reason why this ancient tree is named as Vriksha Raja in Sanskrit.

  • Publication of Research Findings:

Based on Kanikonna’s flowering behaviour, forecast on monsoon setting in and rainfall was widely published in the print media, especially, Janmabhumi,  Mathrubhoomi,  Manorama,  Janayugam  and Indian Express since 2005 every year by April 14th, till date
