Dr. Christopher Chidi is an accomplished vascular and general surgeon with more than 30 years of experience practicing medicine. He is also the CEO and Medical Director of American Physicians Management Inc. (APMI), a managed care company in Los Angeles. Dr. Chidi graduated summa cum laude with his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Hiram College in 1969, and received his MD at Case Western Reserve University in 1973. After obtaining his MD, Dr. Christopher Chidi remained in Cleveland and began as a surgeon intern at the University Hospitals at Case Western and became an Assistant Resident in 1974. Dr. Chidi moved on to New York and undertook a Fellowship at Rockefeller University, followed by a year at Cornell. He returned to Case Western from 1976 to 1979, first as a Surgical Intern, then as Chief Resident of Surgery. Following his residency with Case Western, Dr. Chidi spent time as Senior Resident Lecturer at the Children's Hospital at the Ohio State University Medical School.Since 1980, Dr. Christopher Chidi has operated a private practice in general and vascular surgery in the Los Angeles area. Between 1980 and 2006, he held privileges at several hospitals, including Centinela Medical Center, Memorial Hospital of Gardena, and St. Mary's Hospital. Between 2001 and 2006, Dr. Chidi sat on the Governing Board of the Centinela Medical Center and on the board of the civic organization LA's Best. He is currently the President of both the La Vida Philanthropic Foundation and the Med Afrik Philanthropic Foundation and is a member of the Dean's Advisory Board at Case Western's School of Medicine.As Medical Director of APMI since 1989, Dr. Christopher Chidi has overseen the management of one of California's largest managed care companies. Under his direction, the company has managed more than 500 doctor's offices and operated more than 15 clinics in the Los Angeles area. Dr. Chidi's company also manages more than 200,000 health plan members from Los Angeles and surrounding cities.
