Community-health-oriented psychiatrist Andrew Kessler, M.D possesses extensive experience treating patients of all ages from diverse and disadvantaged backgrounds. In his many roles working as psychiatrist and director of public and community clinics, Andrew Kessler has garnered experience and an in-depth understanding of the challenges of mental illness, as well as social inequities. Andrew Kessler is a Board Certified Psychiatrist and fellow of the American Psychiatric Association. Completing an internship in psychiatry, as well as a residency in psychiatry at the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics, Dr. Andrew Kessler went on to pursue and complete an additional two-year post-graduate study in child adolescent psychiatry. Dr. Andrew Kessler has served as a psychiatrist in several Wisconsin communities for almost 20 years. Accordingly, Andrew Kessler possesses extensive experience in evaluating, diagnosing, and treating the people with serious mental illnesses and often carries a caseload of about 100 patients. In addition, Dr. Andrew Kessler has supervised the work of physicians, social workers, and other professionals involved in treating the community. A widely-respected physician, Dr. Andrew Kessler is often called upon to consult with local school districts and provides expert forensic evaluation. Prior to his service as a clinic-based physician, Andrew Kessler worked as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health for over a decade, teaching and conducting research in addition to serving in his private practice as a psychiatrist. Additionally, he volunteers as a psychiatrist at a free clinic in Madison, Wisconsin.
