About Dr Bruce Hugh Dorman MD

A medical professional for nearly three decades, Dr. Bruce Hugh Dorman, MD, has served as an anesthesiologist with several institutions, including the Medical University of South Carolina. A full professor of anesthesiology with the institution, he also advised more than 30 residents in the specialty. Moreover, Bruce Hugh Dorman, MD, handled clinical treatment for patients as a staff anesthesiologist at Mary Washington Hospital. He primarily focused on pediatric and adult cardiac patients, as well as level one trauma victims and cardiovascular cases.

Throughout his career, Dr. Dorman has been invited to give lectures on numerous topics, including intraoperative uses of Labetalol, valvular heart diseases, malignant hyperthermia, and pacemakers. Additionally, he has given talks at the annual meetings of the Society of Cardiovascular Anesthesiologists, among other groups.

Beyond invited lectures, Bruce Hugh Dorman, MD, has given numerous presentations to internationally renowned medical groups. At the 72nd Scientific Session of the American Heart Association, he discussed increased endothelin levels following a coronary artery bypass graft surgery. He had previously won a Best of Meeting Scientific Abstract Award for “Magnesium Supplementation in the Prevention of Arrhythmia in Pediatric Patients Undergoing Surgery for Congenital Heart Defects” at the 73rd Clinical and Scientific Congress of the International Anesthesia Research Society.
