CME Program Strategist

I lead teams of 15+ internal stakeholders who produce complex, multi-site/multi-phase/multi-year continuing medical education (CME) programs. I create and implement procedures that increase efficiency, decrease re-work, and improve customer satisfaction. I build itemized project budgets, reconcile monthly general ledgers, prepare quarterly projected actual vs. budget with less than 5% variance for 10 job codes/projects currently totaling over $5.2 million in revenue and $2M in net income, and provide a three and five year long term budget estimates.

After just four years with the AAFP, I was promoted to a working manager and I shared the responsibility for multi-format (live, online, enduring, etc.) CME projects.  During this time I had one direct-report. Due to the position being eliminated, my title was changed to CME Project Strategist.

Mainly, I looked at existing processes, documented current practices, and made recommendations to reduce the amount of time for product concept to implementation.  Based on those recommendations, I created streamlined processes and documentation for individual products and departments. I developed a "CME Dashboard" to report out monthly statistics and  I designed itemized budget templates that relate specifically to CME national live courses and grant funded projects.

I supported the Division Director and staff of the Audit and Compliance departments. I worked with Microsoft Access to do detailed monthly reporting on registered sex offender and criminal lists. And worked with Audit department staff on the yearly Audit Report presented to the Board of Directors.
