Summary

I am a student at Capital University in the class of 2012 studying Environmental Science and Spanish.

The documents contained in this VisualCV were created as a part of English 310 Professional Writing under the direction of Dr. Sergey Rybas.In my Visual CV I show my experience with Environmental Science, and my continually growing proficiency with Spanish.  My resume highlights my past achievements in the natural sciences while my Critical Autobiography tells the story of how I learned Spanish.  I continues to show my interest in Spanish and the community in the Instructions Project and in my Optometry en Español blog.Through the Group Project for T.O.U.C.H., my Teaching assistant position, and my volunteering with the Student Conservation Association, I have shown my ability to effectively work in groups.  Besides my academic interests I also enjoys biking, salsa dancing, and I plan to spend the summer of 2011 in Peru studying appropriate technology with a community of subsistence farmers.

Teaching Assistant

Capital University

I worked with a team of eight faculty members and five other student TAs to operate the Summer Institute in Science and Mathematics program. My regular duties included tutoring, and grading lab reports. I also prepared chemicals, demonstrations, materials, and safety information for the twenty-two students in my section of the laboratory. Additionally, I conducted the experimental procedure prior to lab and recommended solu-tions and changes in procedure based on the results.

National Conservation Crewmember

Student Conservation Association

I gained practical knowledge about national park operation and natural resource conservation. I also learned how to effectively live and work with a group of seven strangers in the rustic conditions of a campsite.  My team completed conservation work such as; installing water steps, building a horse and foot bridge, trail and tread restoration, and filling of sink holes.
