  • Developed IT Strategy, set policy and managed the group’s total information and communication technology and services (580 Multi-brand furniture stores,60 specialist bedding stores, 80 Television and Video sales and repair depots & 2 Insurance companies)
  • Implemented successful staff performance measurement, staff development and reward processes
  • Responsible for all IT resources; team size varied between 50 and 250 reports
  • Led a successful efficiency and cost focused transformation of the IT department, involving restructuring of the in-company and outsourced resources.
  • Ensured alignment of the IT Strategy with the Business Strategy
  • Led a successful complete technology refresh. This included the complete replacement of most head office systems and all branch back office and POS hardware and application software. (Across more than 750 sites)
  • Managed all outsourced services at both the contract and operational level
  • Controlled budgets of £3.5m pa expenses and £7m for capital expenditure
