Summary

Executive management professional Doug Melvin has more than three decades of leadership experience in the private and government sectors, including several years in the role of Federal Security Director with the Department of Homeland Security Transportation Security Administration (TSA). He currently serves as President of DACC Global, an international alternative energy company founded in 2006 alongside his work with the TSA. In addition to providing applied solar energy solutions within emerging world markets, Doug Melvin and DACC recently donated a water pump to a health clinic in rural Kenya as part of a 2011 clean water project. The pump currently supplies the clinic and approximately 500 families with clean water.Prior to beginning his career as a TSA and Department of Homeland Security professional, Doug Melvin completed undergraduate studies at Villanova University in Pennsylvania, where he earned the honor of Distinguished Military Graduate. He next earned a graduate degree in Security Management at Webster University in St. Louis, Missouri. In 1997, he went on to serve with the United States Army for 10 years, where he worked with the Military Police and attained the rank of Special Forces Captain.Between 1997 and 2001, Doug Melvin contributed at the United States Agency for International Development in Washington, D.C., where he originally held the role of Team Leader for Domestic and Physical Security. He later attained the position of Chief of Information and Domestic Security. In 2001, he accepted a position in the White House Executive Office of the President as Security and Administration Services Director. During his time in the role, he received the Distinguished Service award for his response at the White House to the 9/11 attacks. An additional government position he held before finding placement with the TSA includes Department of Homeland Security Director in Baghdad, Iraq.
