Doug Starcke

As managing partner of First Flight Solutions in Emerald Isle, North Carolina, Doug Starcke oversees the parcel spend management company’s daily operations. Doug Starcke joined with former FedEx and UPS senior managers and sales executives, all of which combine for more than 200 years of industry experience, to provide customers with reduced transportation prices and improved business processes. In August 2013, he helped the company rank 183rd on the Inc. 500 list of fastest-growing private companies.

Mr. Starcke is also co-owner of South Swell Surf Shop in Emerald Isle. He and a friend purchased the shop in January 2008, when they both renovated it and renamed it. Mr. Starcke provides guidance behind the scenes, while the general manager for the shop runs the day-to-day operations.

Due to the nature of his job, Doug Starcke is able to travel extensively, and he enjoys examining the culture and history found in many national and worldwide cities. When not in the office or traveling across the globe, he enjoys spending time with his family and friends, as well as remaining active. He participates in numerous outdoor activities, including surfing, boating, snowboarding, and playing soccer.
