I am currently a senior at Georgia Southern University completing a degree in Fashion Merchandising & Apparel Design and a minor in Business Administration. I am experience in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, fashion illustration, creating mood/inspiration boards, and have strengthened my graphic design abilities. I also pride myself in staying updated with fashion news and trends by researching online fashion sources, reading fashion blogs and magazines and through various social media accounts including; Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, Tumblr & Blogspot, and Instagram. I have obtained the classroom knowledge of fashion merchandising and marketing while attending Georgia Southern University, but joining a fashion organization has given me the hands on experiences that are needed to succeed in this demanding and fast-paced industry. As a leader of D.I.M.E.S., (Designs Inspired Magnificently, Exhibited in Style.) Fashion Organization, I have gained experience in delegating tasks, time management, and working with my team to promote the creative expression of fashion and art at our university. Serving three positions prior to becoming the president of the organization, I have led over 70 members and comprised the themes and coordination for our various fashion shows, photo-shoots, look books, philanthropic fundraisers, and forums. I assisted in model casting calls, created layout for fliers, networked with vendors and photographers, and executed events' marketing and public relations strategies. I have also expanded my horizons by volunteering throughout the community recording over 280 volunteer hours, coordinated a scholarship pageant, and took the initiative of proposing and coordinating the 2012 Women's Empowerment Conference. By holding such prominent positions, I have learned how to plan and executed events and campaigns in a timely and professional matter. I have had great opportunities building my leadership and communication skills, and would love the opportunity to expand my knowledge and skills of fashion, retail, and marketing beyond the collegiate spectrum.
