I love... Traveling, public relations, event planning, dance, baking, yoga, great food, wine, the beach, surfing, scuba diving, skiing, snowboarding, visiting parks, rock climbing, wake boarding, honesty, people, new technology, music, music festivals, problem solving, writing, singing in the car, networking, sewing, the internet, spontaneity, art, photography, graphic design, helping animals, movies, camping, expanding my comfort zone, environmentally friendly practices and products and much more ...but not necessarily in that order.
I am currently the Director of Public Relations for Rios-Lovell Estate Winery in the Livermore Valley Wine Country. It has been a fantastic experience and the perfect opportunity to grow during this juncture in my life post college. I graduated in December 2010 with a B.A. in Journalism with an option in Public Relations and a minor in Psychology from California State University, Chico. Through my education in public relations and professional experience I discovered my eternal passion for the events and public relations industries. For the next step in my career, I plan to relocate to San Francisco and obtain a position at a public relations agency or within the events industry. Having grown up in the Bay Area, I absolutely love the city and I always knew that I would eventually build my career there. I would love to work for an innovative venue that hosts public and private events or in hospitality public relations. However, I have a wide variety of interests that may lead me to work within many different industries. As an extremely creative and passionate person in all that I do, I am looking to continue my career with a company that shares that passion and can utilize my ability to produce results.

In this PDF are two versions of a poster that I wrote and designed on InDesign to announce an event for STAY VOCAL clothing company. I designed everything from scratch except for the logos. This event takes place several times a year.
I origonally created this Web site in Dreamweaver for an assignment in my Public Relations Publications class. The task was to create a Web site and write three pages of content on any issue that we were passionate about. I chose to create a Pit Bull advocacy site that discusses the negative stereotypes surrounding the dogs and the resulting issues. This led to my internship with Butte Humane Society and has been incorporated into its Web site.
As Business Director for Quest Adventures I researched the budget items for each strategy and developed this final working budget that was under the aloted amount. I also monitored the teams spending and came in below budget as well.
I worked with a team in an agency setting to develop and implement a new public relations campaign for Quest Adventures. This event was one of our strategies and I wrote and designed this poster for it.
I created this ad for one of my assignments in Public Relations Publications. The task was to use a statistic we were given and solve the numeracy issue by making the numbers more tangible while connecting it to an organization.
This is a sample of my newspaper layout design experience that I gained through an elective course called News Editing and Copyreading.
In my Public Relations Publications course we were given our first real client to produce a brochure for. I was challenged to effectively communicate all of the information regarding the organization and its offerings. This was one of the first things that I designed using InDesign and I wrote the content as well.
