Product Manager and Software Architect

Western Digital

My previous company, Trovebox, was acquired by Western Digital. At Western Digital I was leading a team as both the Product Manager and Technical Lead to integrate the Trovebox software into the My Cloud line of products.

I have architected a serverless cloud-based platform using AWS Lambda, API Gateway, Node.js and DynamoDb.

I help many of the internal teams automate their development environments, test suites and deployments.

Co-Founder

Trovebox

I was the original founder of Trovebox. I worked with a community of open source contributors to release the first version of Trovebox within 4 months.

Trovebox secured funding from The Shuttleworth Foundation and I continued to lead the vision of our product and shared engineering responsibilities with my co-founder.

We went on to release 3 iOS apps, 2 Android apps and a web based app. Our software integrated with over 8 cloud storage services including the University of Southern California Digital Libraries and the Internet Archive.

We sold the company to Western Digital in 2014.

Fellow

Shuttleworth Foundation

I received a fellowship from the Shuttleworth Foundation to research and build solutions for distributed large scale storage systems. The funds were used to build the Trovebox software.

We managed to embed the Trovebox software onto NAS devices which could communicate with one another and even sync content between each other. This was done in a manner that all of our web and mobile apps continued to work without modification.

Trovebox was the first project accepted into Mozilla's WebFWD program. Our unique approach of data ownership and data portability was the reasons for getting a fellowship.
