I have just completed a book titled "Body Surfing the New Economy" which analyzes the impact of social networking, cloud computing, and virtualization on the way businesses will derive value from human capital.  The purpose being to outline a vision showing how the combination of these technologies will shape the way business and employees will interact in the decades to come while providing superior services to their customers.  The book is in the editing process and should be published later this year.

In 2005, joined the company to re-architect the aging product line to target the SMB/SME markets.  Successfully re-aligned the technology direction of the company resulting in recognition of its vision being one of thought leaders in the industry. 

  • Managed and directed the development team from initial architectural vision through successful prototype development and market trial.
  • Transitioned the company from a provider of unified communications to a full featured voice application software company targeting the enterprise.
  • Re-invented product strategy and technology architecture to leverage the feature strengths of the existing product and combining it with SOA to create a full service creation environment.
  • Successfully launched new products and managed the old product line through its end of life cycle. Established and grew technology partnerships with IBM, BEA, Motorola, and Siemens.

ANS is a boutique consulting firm providing strategic consulting, systems integration and network consulting to the SMB market.  Successfully built the company's custom development and software integration practice. Established key technology partnerships with Novell and Unisys.

  • Architected, designed and managed the development of the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston's next generation secure intranet portal environment.
  • Designed and managed the development of a custom developed labor management systems for the Pipe Fitters Union of Rhode Island
  • Built a strong practice group in focusing on outsourced development of identity management and SOA based web development and product integration.

Successfully managed the architecture, design, and development of the company's next generation ecommerce solutions focused on configuration management and online product selection through web based customer portals.

  • Responsible for architecting a dynamic object architecture called the Omni allowing for complex and dynamic relationships to be express via the web using XML and XLST technologies.
  • Successfully performed customer usability studies aiding the redesign of the product interface.
  • Established technology partnerships with IBM and Microsoft.
  • Key accounts included Navisite, Invensys, Emerson Electric and PictureTel Corporation.
  • Managed the rapid growth of the company from 7 employees to 65 in two years.

1994 - 1998: Executive Vice President and General Manager

I joined Vantive through and acquisition of a company I started called Innovative Computer Concepts.  After being acquired I took on the role of EVP and GM and helped to grow Vantive from 90 million in sales to over 160 million in sales prior to Vantive being acquired by PeopleSoft.

  • Launched strategic industry campaign around the ICC product line resulting in over 10 million in sales in the first 6 months. Key multimillion dollar accounts including ADP Dealer services, Sears Home Central, and Union Energy.
  • Successfully managed employment transitions of all ICC personal into the Vantive organization.
  • Developed go to market strategies for the new product line including sales development programs and modifications to Vantive's lead generation activities.
  • Responsible for merger and acquisitions opportunities for Vantive and successfully completed two acquisitions.
  • Performed competitive intelligence and reported to the board on market direction.
  • Participated on quarterly earnings calls.
  • Interfaced with key industry analysts.

1994 - 1996: CEO/CTO (Founder, Innovative Computer Concepts)

Innovative Computer Concepts was a provider of field service and logistics software.  ICC was acquired by Vantive in 1996.

  • Architected a highly distributed platform for rapid development of internet based object oriented client server applications. This technology became the foundation for future versions of Vantive's products..
  • Successfully managed and grew ICC from inception to 32 employees prior to its acquisition..
  • Managed and grew the company with operating profitability from its inception.
  • Raised 250k in angel/growth capital 3 months prior to its acquisition.
