As a Telecommunications Specialist, I was responsible for transport terminal equipment and the interoffice facilities network for the entire Midwest Region including Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Ohio and Michigan, which included the monitoring, provisioning and maintenance of various proprietary equipment across the region. Key Results: Provisioned entire Tellabs/Titan 5500 shelves from ground to the point of customer test/turn-up of T1 DS1, T3(DS3), and E1 circuits to meet and support customer needs. Including and Turn-up for service! Used VOIP signaling to manage RTP, MGCP, SIP, and various protocols over packet switched networks. Upgraded previous cooper-fed remote sites to Alcatel/Lucent and Litespan 5500 Sonet/fiber equipment. Supported CLEC customer maintenance and support of Media Gateways Avaya S8500 equipment making sure customer tested and turned up all service to specs and performance standards. Performed special ASR duties for customers ordering Switch Access and dedicated trunk port facilities. Transport Equipment growth and bandwidth management. Provisioning of SONET products(Fujitsu FLM) with the exception of customer specific(Hi-Cap) rings. Migrated Copper to Fiber/Ethernet thru TCP/IP transport layer upgrades.
