Teaching Portfolio

Kim Wildeboer, General Education Teacher

"I have worked with Jennifer for 3 years at the elementary level. I have seen her work as a general education classroom teacher and a resource room teacher for children with behavior issues. The one thing that is clearly evident in both roles is her deep caring for the students. She has helped me with students not on her caseload, because the student needed help. I have observed her handle even the most difficult child with calm patience. In both roles, she seamlessly integrates technology into her lessons. Her students are engaged in the lessons and respect her as an instructor. Jennifer keeps a solid relationship with the parents of her students as well. She maintains steady contact with them regarding their student."

Dave Kanine, Building Principal

"Jen is able to teach useful social skills and does a very nice job of tracking each of the student's behaviors, both in her classroom and in the other classrooms the students attend. She communicates the standards to the students and has an expectation that they will meet."

Dr. Sarah Summy, Professor Western Michigan University

"As her instructor, I am impressed with Ms. Patrick's dedication to children and the field of special education. She is able to successfully integrate book knowledge with life experience and is always striving to do "things" better to improve the lives of people with disabilities."

Michele Wells, LMSW

"She works tirelessly to ensure students success, both academically and behaviorally. Her students always know what is expected of them in her classroom and strive to meet---and exceed---those expectations. As an instructor she is clear, concise and direct with her students. She cares deeply for all of her students, treating them all with respect, and receives their respect in return."
