Notable Achievements

  • Spearheaded the ART program strategy development and implementation in Botswana that resulted in rapid rollout of ART program countrywide with over 80% of infected individuals receiving treatment.
  • Led the rollout of Option B and Early Infant Diagnosis countrywide, resulting in over 90% Option B uptake, and 75% of infants born to infected mothers knowing their HIV status.

Played a key role in managing clinical investigation in Botswana Combination Prevention Project (BCPP), leading a team of 25. Provided technical oversight and day to-day management of the study’s implementation, including development and adherence to study operating procedures.  The study aims to determine whether implementing a package of evidence based HIV prevention interventions can significantly reduce population level HIV incidence. Directed and managed provision of antiretroviral therapy across select clinics.
