About Dietmar Wertanzl

A hospitality industry veteran, Dietmar Wertanzl is the executive vice president of hotel and commercial operations at FleetPro Ocean Leisure in Miami. He joined the firm in 2011 following more than two decades overseeing cruise line operations for companies, including Royal Caribbean Cruises, Ltd., and Tauck World Discovery. In addition, he possesses several years of experience managing hotels in Switzerland. In his current position, Dietmar Wertanzl leverages his expertise to carry out contract negotiations and manage programs that affect retail sales, spa and wellness services, and culinary experiences.

Prior to FleetPro Ocean Leisure, Dietmar Wertanzl served as president and chief executive officer of Cruise West in Seattle. In two years, he expanded the company’s operations to include voyages to Antarctica and the Galapagos Islands, and implemented a new Explorer Class stateroom concept. Under Mr. Wertanzl’s leadership, Cruise West achieved the Recommend Magazine 2008 Reader’s Choice Award for best cruise line in the small-ship category, and was named to Conde Nast Traveler’s list of Ten Perfect Itineraries for voyages to the Bering Sea and Island Sanctuaries.

FleetPro is the leading independent manager of passenger ships worldwide with global operation in both ocean and river ships markets.Responsible for multi-unit leadership and overall P&L for FleetPro Ocean Leisure an IBU, which currently has over ten expedition style/boutique, niche cruise operators under contract, ranging from casual to 4 and 5-star, luxury experiences. FleetPro Leisure provides hotel management contracts or full hotel operation concession contracts to ship owners and operators. In addition, they charter ships to tour operators on behalf of owners, accumulating hotel operation contracts and thereby growing the business.
