Dick Cichanowicz is an active member of his community in various capacities. As a devoted Christian, he maintains an affiliation with McLean Bible Church and a participant within the organization’s Kid’s Quest program. He has also engaged in charity grilling competitions for the Boys and Girls Club of America. In his free time, Dick Cichanowicz enjoys leisurely activities like fishing, golf, outdoor grilling, and landscaping. He also takes pleasure in high-energy sports like running and youth hockey and acts as a volunteer the Reston Raiders Hockey Club, an adolescent hockey league. In 1984, Mr. Cichanowicz completed a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance at Clarkson University and then pursued an advanced degree from the University, securing a Master of Science in Industrial Management and MIS the following year. His first post-college job was as a Staff Consultant for Andersen Consulting where he served for 4 years. Across a spectrum of 26 years, Dick Cichanowicz has performed under many professional titles for several firms. Some of his most notable accomplishments include a $150-million adjustment to Capital One Financial Corp.’s credit card system when he worked as Senior Vice President, which granted a $500-million company enhancement in terms of benefits in advance of the firm’s appropriated timeframe. In a similar position with Nextel Communications, Dick Cichanowicz played a critical role in the transfiguration of the company’s procedures and policies for the Accounting, Finance, Supply Chain, and Human Resources departments. His efforts produced a $100-million corporate makeover and upgraded the inaugural business case net present value (NVP) from $112 million to $240 million.
