Generate new clients to increase billing ($3.5 million+ over 10 years), including: Bee Raw Honey, B. Smith Enterprises, James Beard Foundation, Harper Collins, Michel Nischan (Wholesome Wave), American Society of Magazine Editors, Prevention, ShopSmart, Family Circle, Parents, Fitness, Inc., Disney Worldwide Publishing, World Almanac, and Fast Company. Created first in-house PR department for consumer publications. Spearheaded initiatives with editorial, publishing, and marketing departments of Yahoo! Internet Life, Family PC, and Expedia Travels. Collaborated with the Director of Corporate Communications; recommended establishing an in-house PR and corporate communications team to drive publicity for the portfolio of computer magazines. Hired and managed external public relations and marketing firms. Oversaw and maximized the PR budget.

Worked on specific projects in all of the company's divisions: Playboy Publishing Group, Product Marketing, Playboy Online, Playboy Foundation, and Playboy Entertainment Group. Leveraged the capabilities of outside PR firms to augment Playboy's branding and public relations efforts, and handled numerous celebrity clients. Provided strategic counseling on media, marketing, and crisis management to the Publisher, Executive Editor, and Vice President of Public Relations.

Publicized movie premieres for 10 films over a 10-month span, including In the Name of the Father, Reality Bites with Ben Stiller, Flintstones with Rosie O'Donnell, and Spike Lee's Crooklyn. Generated national media attention on leading talk shows for the release of Schindler's List. Instituted and managed public relations programs in electronic and print media. Pitched national media outlets, including broadcast, print, online, and wire services.

Deputy Book Editor (1992-1993); Entertainment Assignment Editor (1987-1992)

Authored a weekly column, edited books under deadline, served as an entertainment reporter, and oversaw a staff of more than 30 internal and external writers as assignment editor. Interviewed celebrities and reported on fitness, food, gossip, travel, television, lifestyle and late breaking entertainment news. Produced weekly Into the Night column featuring Find of the Week section. Created Between the Covers, the newspaper's first book column in more than a decade.
