Graduating cum laude from the University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelor of Science, Diane Kaern stayed at Pitt to earn her Master of Business Administration and Master of Education. She entered the business world as a Staff Accountant and Accounts Receivable Supervisor for Tel Plus Communications. Her work at Tel Plus, a company owned by Siemens, allowed Ms. Kaern to become a part of the family of companies operated by the global technology giant. Her position at Siemens Information & Communication Networks was as Product Line Planning and Reporting Manager. In this role, Diane Kaern formulated and implemented a financial reporting package fully accessible online. The package represented only one of Diane Kaern's initiatives that expedited and boosted quality and accuracy for the company. Diane Kaern next moved to Siemens Enterprise Networks, LLC, as Business Administration Manager of Product Development in Boca Raton, Florida. A Financial Business Partner to the Vice President of Product Development, she directed the business administration of the division, which employed more than 300 personnel and reported $88 million in sales during a single fiscal year. Becoming the manager for California product development as well, Ms. Kaern developed streamlined procedures for both states. Returning to Siemens Information & Communication Networks, Diane Kaern took the role of Reporting Manager, and increased department output during a downsizing phase of the company. Her efforts brought about a 30 percent increase in output. Partnering with senior executive management, Ms. Kaern led a risk assessment workshop to identify and analyze business opportunities and risks. Most recently, Diane Kaern worked with the Hewlett-Packard Company in Palo Alto, California. From 2007 to 2010, she was the Worldwide Strategic Alliances Sales Operations Manager, responsible for sales pipeline management as well as forecasted revenue and business reporting for the company's Enterprise Strategic Alliances division. Ms. Kaern then functioned for approximately two years as the Worldwide Sales Compensation Analytics & Reporting Manager, analyzing and reporting sales compensation data.
