About Diane Harkey

Diane Harkey leverages more than 30 years of banking and finance experience to serve as a member of California’s 73rd State Assembly district. Appointed as the vice chair for the Assembly Revenue and Taxation Committee, she focuses on advocating for commercial and taxpayer benefits while remaining committed to finding solutions to the state’s budgeting, unemployment, and cash flow concerns. Diane Harkey also serves on the Public Employees, Retirement and Social Security Committee, which seeks to better fund California’s pension program, and the Assembly Budget, Banking and Finance Committee, dedicated to sustaining a viable banking system.

Over the course of her legislative career, Harkey has supported legislation that promotes reduced spending, and her various fiscal bill decisions are influenced by their impact on taxpayers. Her efforts have resulted in endorsements from a number of state organizations and public icons, including the California Chamber of Commerce, Congressional leaders and San Diego Mayor, Kevin Faulconer.

Currently, Diane Harkey is seeking a seat with the 4th District Board of Equalization, which rules on tax disputes and ultimately shapes the state’s tax policy. If elected, she plans on taking actions promoting employment growth and preventing retroactive taxes.
