  • Development and launch of a new online store with strong branding.
  • Development of a back-office system to manage all supplier and customer orders.
  • Eat Organic was highly praised by the Soil Association as an extremely efficiently run operation and won a "Local Food Hero" award in 2008.

  • Successful sale of the business to Abel & Cole, a large national organic home delivery service.

Vegastream developed and distributed VOIP gateways. The company was established through an MBO in 2002.

  • Strict management of working capital including implementing  a restructuring program to reduce annual expenditure by $4m.
  • Responsible for approval and review of all non-standard customer contracts, and advice to sales on deal structure.
  • Due diligence work in preparation for the sale of Baan to SSA GT..
  • Management of strategic planning initiatives to assess the future of the UK Operations.
  • Elimination of surplus legal entities.
  • Implementation of processes to bring Baan in line with Invensys reporting requirements.

Rational Software

Rational Software Corporation was a NASDAQ quoted business and is now part of IBM. Their tools enable flexible software development teams to control risk and change. World-Wide turnover of approx. US$815m. Northern Europe had an annual turnover of US$100m.


  • Recruitment and management of a new Finance & IT Function, and relocation of the department from remote location to HQ.
  • Negotiation of building lease contracts and management of fit out of new facilities.
  • Re-negotiation of supplier contracts resulting in significant savings of up to 75%.
  • Management of the budgeting and planning process.
  • Roll out of SOP 97-2 revenue recognition policies to the Commercial business, including internal controls, training of field staff, management of revenue recognition issues with respect to large customer contracts. Negotiations with customers and partners on commercial Ts&Cs.
  • Introduction of strategic and tactical processes to reduce the UK DSO to 51 days from 113.
  • Secondment to Italy to work on closing a multi-million dollar  global deal with Getronics

Finance Controller - UK & Middle East


Responsible for the finance & operational management of the 5 major UK subsidiaries of Baan Company NV (was quoted on the NASDAQ and ASE).  Annual UK group turnover US $58m.


  • Integration of four UK acquisitions. 
  • Management  of a major program to consolidate duplicated functions  resulting in a 20% reduction in headcount.
  • Consolidation of facilities from 8 to 3 offices resulting in annual savings of $1m.

  • Management of an Expense Reduction Programme achieving cost savings  of $600k pa.
