Meeting and Events Manager (As a M&E Manager, I am responsible for Meeting and Events. Plan, organize, direct and coordinate the team and resources of the Meeting and Events. Manage the Meetings & Events operation, ensuring delivery of exceptional guest service from each area(i.e. waiting staff, etc). Ensure adequate resource planning and assist with effective recruitment. Set & Review departmental objectives for self and team. Responsible for developing team skills & knowledge through training. Ensure prompt resolution of customer complaints. Ensure all costs are controlled without compromising standards and service delivery. Ensure compliance with Company payroll procedures to ensure an accurate payroll result. Ensure awareness and compliance with all Health & Safety work practices. Ensure support of the organisational core values at all times. Responsible for Conferences, Special Events and Weddings. Make sure day-to-day operations of Conference Room, Coffee Breaks & Events are properly attended to. Make sure conference rooms ready before the event. Assisting guests and helping with their needs as well as any special requests. Building and maintaining relationship with the customers and dealing with customer's complaints by investigating and solving problems. Monitoring Guest feedback in order to ensure prompt, efficient and accurate service to all guests. Communicating with all departments to offer guest quick, efficient and high standards of service. Creating a work environment that is high in employee morale and providing constant learning and development training. Plan, forecast and budget the revenues and cost for any events and Up Selling. Review the monthly profit and loss statement for various outlets, staff cost and develop action plans on the same. Work with chefs and other personnel to plan menus and set serving standards that comply with the IHG brand standards. Conducting appraisals and annual performance reviews for staff. Keeping up to date with licensing legislation and taking legal responsibility for the premises. Supervising the team, assigning tasks as well as recruiting and providing training to the new employees Planning all rotas in line with budgeted targets and forecasts, taking the necessary daily action to reduce/increase hours in line with sales
