Yes, it profiles my work experiences. Yet I am first to say that it highlights the shared accomplishments of highly skilled professionals with whom I have had the pleasure of working with throughout my career.
I have been fortunate to work alongside CEOs and ambitious entrepreneurs, while serving five governors, a big city mayor, and a metropolitan county executive. Each experience along the way shaped my approach to change management and my belief that the most effective leaders are those who, when challenged, get beyond the "me" to advance the "we". That's a hard job to get right.
It takes active listening and expressively embracing diversity of opinions, talents, and backgrounds. It requires equal comfort encouraging bold thought while balancing competing perspectives. It takes nurturing of trust to engage others in an open, iterative process while helping to interpret the patterns that begin to emerge. Leaders who do this well forge strong bonds. They are grounded by reality and inspire team members to confidently channel their collective energies to solve problems and get results.
These are the basics of change management, teamwork, and leadership that excite and motivate me to make a positive difference in today's complex world.

Chief Operating Officer. Recruited during period of political turmoil to help turnaround State's lead development entity. Responsible for running the day-to-day operations and strategic direction of a state authority governed by private business leaders that focuses on cultivating new business investment, fostering international trade growth and encouraging the expansion of existing businesses. Appointed by the board as Interim President and CEO during 2016 to design and implement a major organizational restructuring.

Commissioner, Corporate Co-Chair, and Upstate Chairman. Chief executive of cabinet level department (215 employees) and Co-Chairman of ESDC (257 employees.) Appointed by Governor as first Upstate Chairman for New York State. Co-managed $130MM combined budget. Created comprehensive development strategies and implemented initiatives for achieving economic growth across 48 counties in Upstate New York.
