Led the financial planning and accounting functions of $200M business unit.  Prepared monthly forecasts, managed monthly close and cash management of six sites. 

  • Re-engineered importation process by implementing a bonded warehouse in Brazil resulting in $4.0/year savings and a $6.0/year reduction of cash payments.
  • Successfully met cash objective target each quarter resulting in a 30% decrease of DSO.

Region Operations Controller - Latin America

Led the financial planning and accounting functions of $50m business unit at three sites including monthly forecasts, monthly close and cash management.  Responsible for coordination of financial planning for $200M region. 

  • Recommended and implemented $1.7M capital repair in Venezuela by analyzing local tax, statutory and legal requirements which allowed local office to participate successfully in government bids.
  • Implemented ESSBASE forecasting model into the region by training staff in 5 countries.

Latin America Controller

Responsible for $50M business unit comprised of seven sites and 10 distributors including preparing annual operating, capital, and headcount budgets.  Performed quarterly closing and prepared financial results at international sites. 

  • Proactively reinforced and resolved revenue recognition issues with sales force that resulted in a 40% improvement in DSO.
  • Directed successful $2.5M financial restructuring and downsizing of operations in 7 countries resulting in complete shut-down, asset write-offs, liquidation of legal entities and transition of 115 people.
  • Successfully outsourced entire service operation resulting in annual savings of $500k.  Managed business evaluation and recommendation for outsourced contract including interaction with in-house and outside legal counsel and external auditors.

Country Controller - Canada

Responsible for planning and controlling all finance accounting activities for $30M business unit.   

  • Completed a thorough balance sheet review by establishing monthly reconciliation with documentation resulting in no significant observations during annual internal audit.
  • Established a quarterly commission accrual analysis and procedure which resulted in identifying a $300k overfunded commission accrual.

Senior Finance Manager - America Sales & Service

Responsible for financial support of $625M business unit with operating expenses totaling $100M annually which included preparing budget/forecast/actual for P&L, headcount and capital additions using Hyperion Enterprise.

  • Managed close process of $100M operating expense requiring balance sheet and P&L analysis to record appropriate entries.
  • Provided weekly decision support information to senior management including weekly summary of revenue, cogs, margin, and headcount by division.
