About Devarajan Iyengar

Devarajan Iyengar, MD, serves as the director of medical oncology at the Bayonne Medical Center in New Jersey. He earned his MD and completed his internship at the Baroda Medical College of India’s Maharaja Sayajirao University in 1975. Dr. Devarajan Iyengar served his residency in anatomic pathology and internal medicine at St. Claire’s Hospital and Health Center in New York City and at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey.

After completing his residency, Dr. Devarajan Iyengar went on to complete fellowships in hematology and oncology at both the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey and Newark’s Beth Israel Medical Center, following which he received board certification in internal medicine and medical oncology. In addition to his post at the Bayonne Medical Center, he also serves as an associate attending physician for oncology and hematology at the Jersey City Medical Center. Dr. Iyengar has participated in numerous clinical studies of various aspects of cancer treatment.

Well into his fourth decade of helping lead the fight against cancer, Dr. Devarajan Iyengar has received accolades from his peers as well as the general public, and he has been recognized for excellence on numerous occasions. Among others, he has received awards and citations from the City of Bayonne, the Kannada Koota Association, the New Jersey General Assembly, and the American Cancer Society. Most recently, in November 2015, he was honored by the Madeline Fiadini LoRe Foundation for Cancer Prevention.
