Senior Product Specialist

Canwest Media,


  • Managed an online career fair at, a division on Canwest Media. Led the development of the website, coordinated marketing of the site and guided the sales team on the functionality and products on the site. The fair resulted in a $200,000 increase in revenue.   • Led the development of innovative ad units to run on partner sites while at Coordinated with web design as well as Google to ensure ads met all ad guidelines and delivered the required impressions. Tracked results through Google AdWords. The development of these ad units led to a strategic shift in the sales and marketing strategy as senior management realized they could cut costs by advertising on network sites


  • Trained all internal staff during a website relaunch. Hosted training seminars to walk teams through the new back-end tools and new functionality on the website
  • Collaborated with web design team to ensure client advertising was built within promised turnaround times and met client's expectations
  • Researched potential partnerships with recruitment and social media sites. Met with senior management to evaluate the technical and financial feasibility of these partnerships
  • Managed all technical inquires from clients. Ensured their questions were answered in a timely fashion and worked with our vendor accommodate unusual requests such as feed set-ups or new ways of scraping data
  • Developed relationships with vendors, ensuring they understood the company's needs and would respond to issues or requests in a timely manner
  • Managed the development and mail out of e-newsletters to clients. Clients were informed of new product developments or specials through these e-mails. This helped increase sales as the sales team used these e-mails as a starting point for their sales pitch

Hosted training sessions for online specialists at This training led to better sales techniques and more satisfied clients as each part understood the value of a product, where on the website to look for it and the level of 'click thrus' they could expect from it


  • Processed client contract ensuring no more than a one-day turnaround.
  • Followed up with clients to see if they required training or further explanation on the functionality of the site
  • Compiled web traffic reports for the sales team when they were meeting with clients so they could demonstrate the results client's advertising was achieving
  • Resolved client issues by first troubleshooting the problem and if unable to fix, escalating to our technology provider. Ensured problems were resolved within our service guidelines

  • Boosted employee morale as part of the Cultural Reset Team at Shell Chemicals. Planned social events to encourage team bonding as well as came up with solutions such as the employee suggestion box to encourage communication with senior management


  • Managed 10 client accounts that represented approximately $10 million in business
  • Handled orders, ensured the order was placed within service guidelines and that any issues were communicated to them in a timely and professional manner
  • Worked with internal parties such as supply, logistics and quality assurance to resolve issues with shipments. Also communicated to these groups any information regarding whether clients intended to increase or decrease production in order to proactively avoid issues
  • Forecasted inventory levels for two of our largest clients, sending shipments where needed and coordinating with the supply team to head off any potential inventory issues
  • Encouraged clients to use the online order placement by offering them training

Customer Service
Over five years exerience working with clients. This includes developing strong relationships with clients over the phone and via e-mail. In particular I excel at client training. At Canwest Media, I trained clients on how to use website tools to upload advertising and monitor results as well as why online advertising is so important in today's world.
Learned the basics of HTML and CSS while working closely with web design team to build web pages for clients. In addition, I am currently enrolled in the Web Design Certificate at Mount Royal University to increase my formal training in these skills.
Online Ad Trafficking
Worked with web design team to produce ads that could be run on the Google Adwords system. Set up an ad campaign, tracked impressions adn click-throughs and amde adjustments to the campaign as necessary. Basic training in the Dart Sales Management Tools where I booked ad campaigns and tracked the impressions being delievered against target.
Used SAP to place orders, check inventory, produce accounts receivable reports and input quality assurance tickets as part my Account Coordinator position at Shell Chemicals.
